After months of
lying through its teeth denying it, Comcast has confirmed what everyone already knew. They changed their terms of service to say that they will throttle a user’s connection any time they like. The article quotes one user as saying, “If you so much as open a BitTorrent client on a computer on the Comcast network, your entire connection drops to almost a crawl”, nevermind that BitTorrent is also used for legitimate purposes, like downloading Linux, OpenOffice and many free software.
Well, you know what to do. If you want to surf the Internet without your ISP telling you what you can or cannot do, don’t use Comcast. Go to another ISP.
